Why Choose Pinnacle Dental for Dental Crowns?

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is also known as a “cap,” and is designed to provide ample protection for a tooth that is severely decayed or damaged. Custom-made to match the color, size, and shape of your natural tooth, it fits comfortably over your weakened tooth and is cemented into place.

Dental crowns are most commonly used if you have a cracked, chipped, broken or fractured tooth. They’re also put into place if a cavity has spread and cannot be sufficiently fixed with a tooth-colored filling alone, or if you recently underwent dental implant placement or root canal therapy.

The Dental Crown Process

While the traditional dental crown process takes 3+ weeks and several appointments, our team is happy to offer our patients state-of-the-art CEREC® dental crowns that can be designed, crafted, and placed the very same day. This process starts with treating your tooth and preparing it for the restoration. From there, we will take detailed impressions, design your dental crown, and send all of this information to our in-office milling machine. This process is relatively quick, so we’ll have you relax comfortably in the treatment chair during this process. Once your custom-made dental crown is ready, we will place it over your tooth, and you’ll be all set to go!
